Medicare rebates
Standard session (50 minutes): $249.05. With a valid Mental Health Care Plan, the current Medicare rebate is $149.05, leaving an out-of-pocket gap of $100 per eligible session.
Tell your usual GP that you would like to discuss a Mental Health Treatment Plan. Your GP will assess your needs and decide whether a plan and referral are appropriate.
If eligible, your GP prepares the plan and a referral, usually for an initial course of up to six sessions. Please provide the referral before or at your first appointment.
The full session fee of $249.05 is paid at the appointment. A Medicare claim can then be lodged electronically where available, or you can claim using your receipt through Medicare. For an eligible 50-minute session with a valid Mental Health Care Plan, Medicare pays the current $149.05 rebate into the bank account registered with Medicare, leaving a $100 gap.
Your initial referral may cover up to six individual sessions. After these sessions, your referring practitioner can review your Mental Health Treatment Plan and, where clinically appropriate, refer you for up to four additional sessions. This allows Medicare rebates for a maximum of 10 individual mental health treatment sessions per calendar year.
A valid referral and available Medicare-funded sessions are required. The plan does not make sessions free, and fees for assessments, reports, travel or other services may differ. Fees and eligibility will be confirmed before your appointment.
NDIS
Sanctuary Place Psychology welcomes self-managed and plan-managed NDIS participants.
Sanctuary Place Psychology is an independent clinical psychology practice and is not a registered NDIS provider. We provide certain services under a formal service arrangement with an approved NDIS registered provider.
This arrangement may enable eligible NDIA-managed participants to access approved services through the NDIS registered provider, subject to the provider’s acceptance, the participant’s available funding and confirmation of the relevant service and billing arrangements.
Please contact us before commencing services so that eligibility, referrals, service agreements, fees and invoicing arrangements can be confirmed.
